Every Friday, we scour the internet, looking for all of the most awwdorable pooches that got adopted this week - from cats to dogs and even to the very cutest axolotls! Seeing all of these lovely animals finally find their forever homes, happy and content, is the one thing that we absolutely cannot withstand smiling about.

To every person who adopted this week, we give the biggest thank you! Giving these animals a place to live and be loved is the best thing to do for them. A extra special thank you, as always, goes to the ones of you who adopted senior pets, pets with behavioral issues, or sick pets. Beware: Cockatoos In Australia Have Officially Learned How To Open Trash Bins

You've probably heard of baby-proofing your space, maybe even cat-proofing it, but have you ever considered that there might be a need to cockatoo-proof your garbage bins? Well, if you're living in Australia, we think you're about to consider it.

We have always known that cockatoos were kind of jerks. Why else would cockatoos go around biting kangaroo tails to get to their food? But now... now, we're officially scared. Because these cockatoos are getting smarter, and apparently, they have developed the ability to open up trash bins in masses.

Read more of the story, check out pics of the robberies and even a video below!

Cat Rescue: Feral Cat Approaches Couple And Promptly Adopts Them

We are always quick to help animals in need! While in a parking lot, this Imgur user came across a large group of feral cats, but one stood out amongst the rest. A sweet little cat soon afterwards named "Earl Grey" came up to the user's husband and the rest was history. He was fed, cared for, and had adopted two humans in the process.

The couple noticed quickly that little Earl Grey was in need of medical attention! This little guy was scooped up and cared for promptly. We love a wholesome rescue story. They remind us of all the goodness that exists in a world where we often forget to appreciate the little things! We are wishing Earl Grey all the best in his new home. We know he will get all the love and attention he deserves.

Thread: Saving And Adopting A Newborn Kitten With Umbilical Cord Still Attached

There can be many reasons in the wild for which even the most loving animal mommas would reject one of their babies. Nature is cruel like that. And though we don't know the exact reason behind the abandonment of this itty bitty kitty in this story, we can only be thankful that it turned out the way it did.

Abandoned by its mom, a newborn kitten with its eyes still closedand the umbilical cord still attached to it was thankfully found by YucateCosa's neighbor. Following that, after getting lucky approximately 53 more times, this kitten found its new forever home. Thank you to YucateCosa for taking care of her and giving her the love and care that she deserved. Few could have and would have done what you did, and we are so, so thankful.

Thread: Affectionate And Goofy Scissor-Beak Chicken Strives For Best Life

Not every animal is born the same. Not every animal goes through the same experiences. And whether it's experiences that caused it to become 'imperfect', like the bobcat who was dropped on its head by a hawk as a kitten and whose favorite toy is now fennel or the dog who was previously mistreated for barking slowly learning to bork again. Or if it's some disorder, like the disabled goldfish that couldn't swim because of a bout of swim bladder.

All these animals deserve a second chance at life, and every person who gives it to them is a hero.

grrumble on imguris our newest hero. Dory is a chicken born with a condition called scissor-beak or cross-beak, and though she's a fighter and always strives for a better life, without grrumble, Dory would not have made it. We're truly thankful, from the bottom of our hearts that you heled save this poor helpless creature, and we hope that you guys live a long, happy life together.

Even as it progressed, she still strived- it felt like overnight how quickly it worsened... my dang bleeding heart couldn’t give up on her and I’m so glad I didn’t grrumble'

Not every animal is born into the best of circumstances. Nature can be difficult like that. In the wild, unfortunately, baby animals can lose their mothers and be left alone. Many of them don't survive, but some of them... find themselves in the hands of people who will do anything to save them.

Such is the story of Tohar the cow. She had lost her momma when she was only 8 days old, but thankfully, she found her way to Shanti farm where other disabled animals get rescued and find forever homes. But, that's not where her story Tohar's story ends. This wonderful girl has turned out to have endless love for other animals, and has, over time, become a sort of surrogate momma to them, taking them under her wing and giving them all the love that she can.

Thread: When A Human Gets Adopted By A Feral Cat

Pet adoption stories are always the most wholesome stories to read. Walking into a shelter and falling in love or helping a friend by taking a kitten from a newborn litter... it's our favorite kind of stories. Well, second favorite. Because what takes the number one spot for us are stories of the opposite, not of us humans adopting a pet but stories of pets adopting humans.

The story of the no-longer-feral cat that you're about to read is just like that. All it took was some love (and a little food) for a totally feral cat to decide that this human is its now. And being that we are too in love with cats for this world, this person had simply no choice but to take this kitty into its home. The rest... well, it's history. Very wholesome history.

I couldnt get close until I came back with a bunch of whopper patties. After some junk food one followed me all the way to my hotel room. I was chosen. So checkoutmypearlywhitesraaaaaaaarrrr'

Twitter Thread: The Incredible Story Of Simon, The HMS Amethyst Ship Cat

When we think about history and war, rarely do we think about the animals. Deservedly, we talk about the soldiers and the fallen, the events that occurred, but sometimes, the animals have stories of their own. Simon, the HMS Amethyst ship cat, has lived one of the most amazing cat lives and has one of the most incredible stories. Thank you to @garius for putting this story together and sharing it with the world. We hope many more people read it and learn about Simon.

Simon is not the only ship cat out there either, there apparently have been many ship cats adorably sleeping in tiny hammocks throughout history. And other cats throughout history have been captured destroying all of our things. And though, no, none of their stories are quite as amazing as Simon's, we love them all.

Brave Mom Cat Runs Into Burning Barn To Save Her Kittens

For mothers, living in the animal kingdom is an extra difficult task. Having to look for food, fend for themselves as they hunt, find shelter, all while keeping their babies safe. The motherly instinct is strong. It's no wonder, then, that animal momma are loving yet stern. They have to do what needs to be done to protect their babies, even if it means saving them from danger at risk to themselves.

That is what one momma cat had to do - running into a burning barn to save her kittens. According to Cole & Marmalade, the barn was this cat's home. She and her babies had been living on that farm for a while, and sadly, when the structure caught fire, her babies were still inside.

Heartwarming Stories Of Cats Adopting Humans

Every single one of us, cat owners, has a story to tell about how we chose and adopted our fur babies. Some of us rescued our cats from terrible lives on the street, others went into a shelter to pick up a kitten then ended up changing our minds and adopting a senior pet. and some of us... well, some of us didn't choose at all and were instead picked by the cats.

Last week, our purrfect ICanHasCheezburger users shared some of their stories with us - stories of cats adopting them, and they were so cute and wholesome, we simply had to share them with all of you guys as well. Thank you to everyone who shared, and we hope that your cats have the absolute best lives living with their humans of choice

Facebook comments about cats adopting humans | thumbnail includes one Facebook comment 'Font - Patrick Califia One of my roommates acquired a cat on Thanksgiving. She and both of her pit bulls were in a food coma. The cat, who was feral, walked in (stepping on the dogs), climbed up on the table and ate a bunch of Turkey, then sashayed into the living room and fell asleep snuggled up to her. Baby Squirrel Rescued From Parking Lot And Immediately Cared For

We are always quick to help animals in need! While in a parking lot, this Imgur user noticed a baby squirrel isolated and in need of medical attention! This little guy was scooped up and cared for promptly. We love a wholesome rescue story. They remind us of all the goodness that exists in a world where we often forget to appreciate the little things!

It is so important to be alert and attentive to your surroundings. Many animals when hurt or in distress isolate themselves and end up suffering in silence. If you happen upon an animal in distress, speak out! Post on social media! Call your local animal services! Do something! You might just be saving a life. And there is nothing more satisfying and good than that.

Abandoned Tripod Kitten Finds Forever Home With Another Tripod Cat

Not every kitten is born the same as the previous one. Some cats are born blind, other cats are born with extra toe beans, and this kitten was born with a few issues in his legs. Meet JD, the three legged kitten whose back left foot was curled under and who couldn't walk.

As reported by Love Meow, JD was a three year old tabby cat who was found abandoned alongside his siblings. A Good Samaritan who came across them on the street could not help but pick them up and try to help them, but unfortunately, she soon realized that she was not equipped to give them the kind of special care that they needed, especially JD.

Not giving up on them, she reached out to people who could help. Today, JD is happier than ever, adopted and living with another "impurrfect" cat with three legs.

Read more of the story and see adorable pictures below!

Pregnant Cat Begs Woman For Help To Save Her Kittens

If there is one thing that we have observed over our time reading animal stories is that animal mommas will do absolutely anything to save their babies, and that includes going up to the scary human predators who can hurt them in the hopes that these humans will help them instead. And this cat momma is no different - pregnant, hungry, and alone, she came up to the porch of some random person and begged for help.

Thankfully, the human she approached saved her and her babies.
