When it comes to rescued animals, sometimes, no matter how hard you try, it takes a while for them to get used to their new environment, to learn to love and trust the humans that saved them. But once it does happen, once you see your gorgeous rescues with their bellies up and their eyes closed, you are filled with such love and joy it's hard to contain. 

And even when it's not your own rescue, that uncontainable joy is spread to everyone. So, when twitter users decided to share stories of them rescuing their pets and how happy those pets are now, we knew that we had to share some of them with you too - to bring some of that joy into your day as well.

Happy Friday, fellow animal lovers! We know it'll be a good Friday after we saw all these recently adopted faces this week! Our hearts are absolutely bursting at the sight of their beautiful faces in their forever homes! 

As always, we would like to start by thanking all of those who have recently adopted a pet, all those who have adopted a pet in the past, and all of those who will be adopting a pet in the future. You all are changing these animals' lives for the better, so, thank you. And a mega-huge-ultra shoutout to those who animal a senior pet or a pet who requires a tad more tender love and care. You are our forever heroes.

Raising puppies is not an easy task. Raising puppies with a bad history is even harder. But raising seven of them? Now, that's something to be thankful for. Imgur user RareWolf3 shared their story of doing just that - raising seven wolfhound cross puppies who were dumped in a bush, emaciated and scared.

All seven of the puppies have since been adopted and taken into loving forever homes, one of them even being adopted by RareWolf3 themselves. looking back on their pictures when they were babies brings us so much joy, and knowing that they're living good lives now is even better, and we are indeed really thankful.

When going to shelters and listening to the stories of the animals in there, it's always hard hearing about the ones that have been picked up once then taken back. We understand how much hope followed by devastation these animals feel, and our animal-loving hearts want nothing more than to give these animals the forever home they deserve.

So, when we hear a story about an animal that has been returned to the shelter already finally finding its forever home, for us (and for the animal), the joy is doubled. Thank you to FactWino for sharing the story of his beautiful rescue puppy, and thank you to the internet for making it go viral and bringing it to our attention. We wish them the most amazing, long life together.

Bring the tissues, everyone, because this one is a tearjerker. Meet Baldr. This poor pup has spent the first year and a half of his life chained up before he got rescued. He never even had a name, and it has left him afraid of trusting people. Thankfully though, his life changed when imgur user, poorschmuck, opened up their hearts and took him in. 

Baldr is now the happiest he's ever been. He's found his forever home, and he knows it. In this home, he will get nothing but love, and as poorschmuck said: he's "[n]ever going to see a chain again." And nothing could make us happier.

Pets with behavioral issues are never easy to take care of, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve the most amazing forever home. What happens though, when you find out that the pet's behavioral issues most likely stemmed from fear rather than anything else? You get the story of Cheddar Kevin the cat.

bythezu, on imgur, shared their kitty's story, and it first broke our hear then put it right back together. Because this poor kitty has been re-homed 5 times since he would pee everywhere. Yet, when he got to bythezu home, he didn't have an issue. It seems that the reason is that the poor guy kept being put into busy home which were simply too scary for him.

There's absolutely nothing worst than hearing a story about cruel abuse of pets, so when an unfortunate pet like that gets adopted and taken care of, we are all the more grateful. Everyone, say hi to Sweet Potato, a previously abused sweetheart who got adopted by a new veterinarian mom, went through surgery bravely like the hero he is, and got his broken leg fixed. And deservedly went viral on top of it all. 

We want to thank thecomfycat for sharing the story of Sweet Potato and for taking care of the little guy. We hope that he will have an easy and quick recovery after the surgery and that he will be happy with you for a long, long time.
