On April 17, 2018, cameras at the Smithsonian Zoo captured a very rare moment. The moment a mother gorilla welcomed into the world a baby boy gorilla. Why is such a big deal? Well, Moke (meaning "junior" or "little one" in the Lingala language) is the first Western Lowland gorilla born in just under a decade. Proud mother Calaya was captured bonding with him moments after his birth, and we are all in love!
The Symbio Wildlife Park Zoo in Sydney, Australia shared this ridiculously cute video of four tiny meerkat babies learning to walk and stand for the first time.

The Elephant Nature Park animal sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand shared this cute footage of adult rescued elephant, Dok Mai, convincing a stubborn baby elephant to stop playing and join the rest of the herd for a family lunch.

The Symbio Wildlife Park Zoo in Sydney, Australia shared this amusing video of their super chill koala, Harry, enjoying some tummy rubs while relaxing in the lap of zookeeper, Tami.
This Chinese zoo devised an effective and reasonable plan without disrupting the lives of the wild animals. Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo in Chongqing City cages humans and lets the wild animals roam free. A cage, filled with people is driven around the park to show animals in an open habitat. Wildlife doesn't get more real.
The zoo staff carved pumpkins, filled them with additional food items, and will be dishing them out as treats over the next two weekends for their furry friends. From sloth bears and fruit bats, to carpet pythons and hungry hippos, these animals are not getting left out of the festivities

For three years, Japanese photographer, Sheng Wen Lo, has been photographing captive polar bears in 25 zoos and other enclosures in Europe and China. The series, called White Bear, exposes the welfare of animals within artificial habitats by observing their behavior.
