Tumblr Thread: Feral Cat Invited Herself In And Never Left

Cats, being relatives of some of the most dangerous creatures on the planet, had to have gotten to the point of being house kitties somehow. Self-domestication seems to have been the way they did it- coming in and deciding that it's better to get pampered by these puny humans than to go through the hardships outside alone. And apparently, this act of domesticating oneself is not a thing of the past.

Everyone, say hi to Ghost, the cat who was born into a feral cat colony, walked into tchaikovsgay's life (and house) one day and simply never left. She's adorable, she had the cutest toof, she loves belly rubs, and we are probably almost as happy as she is for having found her forever home.

Two Rescued Kitten Siblings Learning To Trust Humans (Viral Thread)

It takes a lot of work to get a feral kitten to trust you, let alone two of them. But it's the kind of hard work that's worth every second.

This viral thread on imgur by straightcreepen tells the story of two feral kitten siblings who were living in an industrial area near a junk yard and were picked up by a rescue. The kittens would have had to have been euthanized had they not been saved and later tamed, but luckily, they were in the hands of people who know how important it is to help feral kittens.

It took time, and it took love, but both kittens learned to trust and love the humans around them. And now, the sweet boys have been adopted - together!

Read their heartwarming story and maybe share it with someone who has misconceptions about feral kittens and the joy they can bring.

Carefully Getting A Feral Cat To Trust And Love Its Owner

Some people have trepidations when it comes to bringing feral cats into their homes. It's hard work, we know, getting them to relax and trust you, but we also know that every cat needs love, care and protection, especially those who are feral but find their ways into our homes. A lot of times, someone like us is their best if not only hope, and though it's true that it's hard work, it is worth it.

This viral thread by straightcreepen on imgur proves just that. Feral cats are not easy to work with, and it takes a long time to get them to trust you, but once you do, there is nothing more gratifying and heartwarming. Most cats' love is hard-earned, but the love of a feral cat is especially hard-earned, but it is also especially worth it.

Meet the ever-handsome orange tabby named Thor!

Thor was born feral, and is completely blind. According to TinyKittens HQ, it's a miracle he managed to live on his own, out in the streets, for the first year of his life.

Thankfully, Thor is now in some loving hands, and as TinyKittens HQ writes in their description, "we promise he will know nothing but love, comfort and a full belly from now on."

Thor has already gained 6 pounds, in their care, and even has a playmate named Nyla!

"His fear instinct is quite ingrained, so it might take some time for us to help him build enough confidence with humans that he doesn't try to run and hide.  Once we have him in our laps, he is just loving being hand fed and having his ears and chin rubbed.

Nyla is keeping Thor company until she gets her spay and eye surgery tomorrow.  She has one purrfect eye, and is very fearful in captivity, so we are hoping she will be able to return to her friends and family in our Happy Forest managed feral colony once she's fully recovered.  As with all of our ferals, we will bring her back in if she needs further medical care or if she changes her mind about life with humans."

A huge shout out and thank you to TinyKittens HQ for all their incredible and loving work they provide!
