Tumblr Thread: The 4 Foot Tall Red-Bearded Vulture

Guys, get ready to be scared and impressed all at the same time. We're about to give some love to yet another insanely underappreciated animal, but we're going to do it from the safety of our homes, because this bloody bird is a little terrifying. Meet the 4 foot tall red-bearded vulture.

We know that birds are clawsome at this point, don't even lie. Parrots can impersonate different accents and be jerks to other pets. Crows sometimes collect gifts and bring them to people. And the red-bearded vulture? Well, the red-bearded vulture eats a diet of bones and covers itself in blood for a reason which, even after we read, we can't really comprehend. It's a cool bird though, and we always love learning more about the animal kingdom, even when it scares us a bit.

Tumblr Thread: Petting Cats Is A Grooming And Bonding Activity

Cats are misunderstood. So often, unfortunately, cats are treated as if they are dogs or some other animal when they are clearly so very different than them - same as any other animal. It takes a while for a cat to get used to a human, and humans have a tendency to be impatient and expect affection sooner than they earned it. But when they do earn it, when aloof cats finally warm up to their humans, there is nothing more satisfying.

Learn what a cat's body language means, when and how they want you to pet them, and your relationship with it will improve faster than you thought possible. This tumblr thread is about to help you learn.

When your cat does finally warm up to you, make sure to send us wholesome and awwdorable pics of it so we can swoon right there with you!

Grooming each other is how cats bond. Of course, each cat will have individual preferences, but the fact that it's a grooming thing gives you two basic places to start: Scratch areas that the cat has difficulty reaching, like the '

And you wish you could spend more time around big cats like that and get to know them better, learn about each of them - what makes them special and different and what their personalities are like.

Well, say thank you to tumblr user carnegiemuseumnaturalhistory for deciding to share their big cat knowledge with us and teaching us - unlucky big cat lovers who can't spend time with big cats - about what makes wild cats unique.
