As your pet gets older and older, you start thinking about getting it a pet friend - some company, someone to love when you're busy and not around. And though you may not think that getting your senior cat a pet great Dane dog would be the best idea in the world, in this case, you'd be wrong, because this senior kitty and huge doggo absolutely love each other. 

They're best friends and love each other so much. They have out together in the sunshine every single morning, sometimes, they kitty uses the pupper as its personal pillow. And they are so adorable together, the collective hearts of the internet have completely melted. 

Welp. It is Monday once again, animal lovers. And the Monday blues have been rolling in strong. There is just something so blah about Mondays and the start of the week, in general. Ideally, we should feel refreshed and ready to go from resting over the weekend but who in the world ever feels refreshed after the weekend? If anything, we're somehow even more exhausted and the stress and the weight of a new week heave on our minds.

Oh... cats and dogs. A battle as old as time. Two animals so incredibly different in behavior that everyone thinks they could never get along. That assumption makes sense. If you've ever studied the way that cats and dogs behave, you would have seen that the same body language cue from one would mean the opposite to the other. For one, extreme tail wiggles are very positive, and for the other, extreme tail wiggles mean you have to get away or the murder-mitten will be put into action. 

But that's not true for all cat and dog pairs. Some of them do learn each other's behavior over time and become best of friends. What would you do if you were driving one day and came across a puppy on the road? And not just any puppy either but a puppy sitting next to another puppy who unfortunately passed away? Not many of us would be able to hop out of the car and help it, even though most of us would probably want to do just that. Thankfully though, in the case of this puppy, imgur user WaffleKid did the incredible.

And though the puppy was terrified at first, skittish at every touch, eventually it realized that this amazing human was not going to harm it. From there on, their relationship blossomed, and both the puppy and the human (and the internet) became happier for it.

It's a mega serotonin boost in the form of adorable animal pics and videos! And yes, it does help in cheering us up and giving us the energy we need to carry on. 

Animals just seem to have that magic. I don't know about you, but for us, if we're feeling down about things and just so happy to see a dog out of the corner of our eyes, we feel a burst of that happiness. And even more so, when an animal seems to know you're feeling down and unexpectedly come to comfort you. If that doesn't cheer you up, you may want to look into that because that feeling is pure magic.

It's hard not to smile when you're in the presence of a big floofy land cloud. It's actually quite impossible and if you fight us on this, just try scrolling through all these memes without cracking a sing smile. We double-dog-dare you. 

When it comes to smiles, this particular doggo has everyone beat. They are known as Samoyed and described as the "smiling sledge dogs." Oh, and they are the closest humans can get to being near/having a polar bear. We've got mad love for these giant land clouds because a single smile from them is enough to break any dark clouds and let the sunray in and light up your life.

Every animal has a personality. Every animal has it's funny little strange quirks. Some of them do these strange things just because they're jerks and wanna be annoying (not that that makes us love them any less), and some do it because of something that happened in their past that is still affecting their behavior now. 

Such is the story of Harley - the famous tumblr rescue dog who was once abused and mistreated and now lives in her forever home and licks the mute button whenever the music on her human's computer gets more attention than her. She's lovely - happy as she is now and with every strange little quirk she has. 

"There's no love quite like the love of a rescue dog," writes imgur user Rumpleteazer, and we are inclined to agree. There is something incredibly unique about the love that a rescued animal shows to you, the trust that it feels toward you after being previously hurt. And it feels just as special on your end, knowing that you helped an animal who would have otherwise not have had a good life, feeling the trust that you earned through your actions, and sometimes through a long time and a lot of work.

That kind of love lasts for a long time. And we are so happy to see Rumpleteazer's pup happy and oh so affectionate and in love with its adoptive human.
