Corduroy, born on August 1st, 1989, holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest cat alive. He loves mice, sharp cheddar and simply being a cat.

Even at 26 he keeps a busy schedule roaming his owner's 160-acre ranch in Oregon. Somehow he still finds the time to nap regularly.

A family in California thought they lost everything in a forest fire that swept through their home and forced them to evacuate the area for five days. Their cat, Ruthie Rosemary, panicked and ran away during the evacuation and they thought she was lost to them.

The fire was so hot that it melted the aluminum on vehicles that the family left behind but miraculously, Ruthie Rosemary came out nearly unscathed. A few curled whiskers and eyebrows are all the evidence of the cat withstanding the fire. It's unclear where she hid from the fire or how she made it out alive but her owners are obviously happy she did.
