Finger Monkeys Being Their Small And Cute Selves (Photos)

These tiny-tiny monkeys are so small and adorable they barely even look real, but they are. Their scientific name is pygmy marmoset, and they are the smallest monkeys in the world and one of the smallest primates in the world. They're so small, they are literally the size of your finger. Even adult finger monkeys are no longer than 4.6 to 6.2 inches, not including their tails, because their tiny fluffy tails can grow as big and bigger than the full size of their body.

Mostly, people call them finger monkeys because - you guessed it - they are the size of your finger, but others call them thumb monkeys, pocket monkeys, or even little lions because of the hair around their faces that looks like a mane. These tiny creatures are so insanely adorable, and we of course decided to share that adorableness with you in the hopes of putting at least a tiny smile on your faces

Rare Orchid Species That Look Like Tiny Monkey Faces

There are a rare orchid species in the cloud forests of Central and South America that mimic the shape of a monkey's body.

That's right, a monkey.

According to Wikipedia, the "Monkey orchids" can be found in Ecuador and Peru, where they are referred to as the Dracula Simia which literally means "dragon monkey." The unique orchids got their unique "monkey faces" from the combination of flower petals and stamens and they smell like a lovely burst ripe oranges. They were first discovered in 1978 and can grow up to two feet tall.

Just take a look at these cute little flowers.

This Viral Video Of A Monkey Washing Clothes Puts Us All To Shame

How many of us wash our clothes by hand? Scratch that - how many of us have ever washed our clothes by hand? I'm betting that the answer is close to zero (especially if you're a millennial). Judging by the fact that you're reading this now, you've probably got access to utilities more necessary than the internet, i.e. a washing machine. So what's the big deal? The big deal is that there's a monkey in India that can wash clothes way better than you can. And monkeys don't even wear clothes (well, not naturally). How does that make you feel?

The Japanese snow monkey or the Japanese macaque is a symbol of Japanese folklore and a visit there is a must on any trip to Japan. The park was established in 1952 after WWII when the monkeys were going down from the mountain to the farm fields to eat the crops. There wasn't enough food for humans at the time so the city set up this park to attract them to the other side. Video producer John Daub of the series Only in Japan spent a day working at a Park, specifically the Takasakiyama Natural Zoological Garden on the Kyushu Island city Õita, Japan. Daub accompanied the park workers as they travelled up into the mountains and over to the hot springs where these adorable macaques congregate. Daub learns that these native primates are hungry little critters who will travel far into town for food if they miss their dinner.

Stephanie Fusco grew up dreaming of owning a pet monkey, and her dreams came true two years ago. The 26-year-old's monkey, Alexander Laurence Fusco, also known as Xander, is a white faced capuchin lives with her in North Carolina, where it is legal to own certain exotic pets. Capuchins are medium-sized New World monkeys, native to Central America, however their intelligence and adaptability has made them sought after pets. Unsurprisingly domesticating a monkey hasn't always been the easiest of tasks and Stephanie admits that her dedication to Xander the monkey has even affected her dating life.
