Therapy Doggo Saves A Life: Hats Off To Digby The Doggo (Twitter Thread)

Today we would like to share with you a very important story that we found while roaming through the depths of twitter. Digby is a full time service dog at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in England. He is often used to diffuse difficult situations and helps crews who have been exposed to trauma during talking therapy.

When the Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene of a young woman considering taking her life, one of the service members had the amazing idea to bring in Digby the Diffuser. When Digby arrived on the scene, the young woman instantly smiled. She was offered the opportunity to play with Digby and she accepted, and in doing so her life was saved. Never underestimate the extent to which dogs can be therapeutic. The power of this awwmazing doggo literally saved a woman's life. We hope this person gets all the help she needs and deserves, and we are so thankful that Digby was there to help her! Digby gained quite a bit of twitter fame for his brave actions. Fellow doggos reached out to express their support for Digby! He was even offered a hot date! Way to go Digby, you are pawsitively awesome.

Service Dog Appreciation Because Doggos Deserve Love

We all know that heartwarming feeling that goes through our entire body when we see a service dog on the street because we know that these dogs are the purest, most wholesome and good kind of doggos. They help people and get little in return. We can only aspire to help human beings as much as these dogs are.

The very least we can do for these service doggos is serve them back by learning about them and giving them as much love and support (and snacks) as we can. So, today, courtesy of a viral tumblr post, we are going to learn about these puppers and show them the love that they truly deserve

Attention To Mental Health Brought To Life In Powerful Comics

Aminals can sometimes be the very best form of therapy.

Artist Hector Janse van Rensburg has brought attention to mental health in a beautiful form of watercolor comics. The Instagram account is called, @swatercolour, a mix of the words shtty + watercolor. Truth be told, these lovely comics are very far from being shtty.

In talks with a very wise cat, who offers mental health advice, these illustrations are thought-provoking and very wholesome. We could all use a dose of Hector's 'Swatercolor' any day of the week.

You can find these wholesome comics on Twitter, as well!

No More Snakes On A Plane: New Rules For Emotional Support Animals

Picture this: you're walking down the aisle in an airplane and when you find your seat, there's a turkey sitting next to it. Or a pig. Or a monkey. It sounds like a comedy routine, but it isn't. In the past few years, there has been an unprecedented rise in people having 'emotional support animals', particularly when traveling on airplanes. While any step towards improving mental health is applauded, there have been many incidents involving emotional support animals on airplanes that really don't belong there. We can't blame these untrained animals for acting the way animals act, but we can question the laws that allow them on board. With new regulations from the US Department of Transport, things are about to change. We discuss these changes below, and whether they are for the better or the worse.
