Every adopted pet has a past- a story that we don't know and wish we did. Normally, we only know a little bit. And with Ezri, what we know is enough to break our hearts and then melt our hearts. 

The tumblr user fire-is-her-water shared the story of their adopted doggo. The little they know of Ezri's past is that Ezri used to be abused as well as mistreated every time she barked. Now, in the hands of fire-is-her-water, in a loving home, it was time for Ezri to relearn how to bark again. And through months of work and many, many treats, she let her voice be heard again. 

Turns out, Ezri is a pupper that doesn't actually bark much - she borks. And the video of it will make your heart absolutely burst.

Meet Chad Staples! A man who loves what he does, and what he does is love and care for wild animals at the Mogo Wildlife Park in Syndey Australia. His love for the animals he cares for is endless and his goal is to share that love he has for animals and to ignite those same feelings in you. 

For those who follow Chad on Instagram, you'd know just how meaningful each animal is to him and the special bond he creates with each creature is truly something you can see and feel within his images and/or videos.

It takes a lot of work to get a feral kitten to trust you, let alone two of them. But it's the kind of hard work that's worth every second. 

This viral thread on imgur by straightcreepen tells the story of two feral kitten siblings who were living in an industrial area near a junk yard and were picked up by a rescue. The kittens would have had to have been euthanized had they not been saved and later tamed, but luckily, they were in the hands of people who know how important it is to help feral kittens. 

It took time, and it took love, but both kittens learned to trust and love the humans around them. And now, the sweet boys have been adopted - together!

One of the cutest things we've seen go viral on the internet this week is this awwwwwdorable cat asking for head rubs. Over and over again, this fluffball cat oh so gently pats their human's hand and asks for its head to be petted, and our hearts are practically melted around... the first time the cat asks. By time three, we're nothing more than a puddle.  

And some people still believe cats are not affectionate. Madness. They have no clue how much cats love cuddles and head rubs and heatbutts and every other expression of love that there is. They just like it... in controlled, small doses at times of their choosing. 

The most elusive blep strikes again! And this time, it's the pristine doggo side-blep. It may appear when your doggo is particularly happy or particularly sleepy, but it is always, always worth a picture. 

This makes the next entry into our blep competition, previous attended by foxes, large cats, and your regular domesticated cats. Though the crown seems to still be held firmly in the paws of our little felines, these dog cuties truly do give them a run for their wet food.

This family may be a little unique, but they sure are loving. A baby lynx abandoned by its mother for being the runt of the litter was brought into the care of a domesticated cat who had just given birth to a kitten of her own, and the cat quickly adopted the lynx as her own. A cat is a cat right? All big cats act like little cats at the end of the day.

This tumblr thread stoke the hearts of everyone, and it is one of our favorites as well, because though the family may be a little strange, their story is one of acceptance, and it is so heartwarming. Also, the domesticated cat can rest assured that her large, fierce daughter will protect her from everything, and that's a wonderful bonus.

When we adopt a pet - young or old - and don't know their story, we can't help but wonder about it. I can say personally that I've always wondered if my little kitten's ears look funny and different because something bit her or if it's just genetic. There's no way for me to know, and the curiosity has stayed all the years that I've had her. 

Sometimes though, you get lucky and find out exactly where they're from. Like this story that went viral on imgur. This curious imgur user managed to discover his little puppy's background, and it warmed the hearts of tens of thousands because it is one of the most wholesome, heartwarming stories possible.
