Lion Soulmates Euthanized Together Due To Health Problems

The news of L.A. Zoo's African lions Hubert and Kalisa hit us pretty hard. The pair were always together, never having cubs, but still, side by side for many years. Best friends, soulmates, this duo truly loved one another.

Last Thursday, L.A. Zoo, made the difficult decision to humanely put the pair down with euthanize, due to their declining health and illnesses due to age.

Denise Verret, director of the L.A. Zoo, had this to say about the beautiful pair, "Hubert and Kalisa are an iconic part of the L.A. Zoo experience, and our staff and guests have been touched by their loyal companionship. Their longevity is truly a testament to the level of expert care our veterinary and animal care teams provide for our elderly animals. These lions will remain a positive part of our history, and they will be greatly missed."

We will miss you, Hubert and Kalisa. Rest in peace.

Popular Artist Reveals New Comic About Seabirds And Plastic Consumption

Jenny-Jinya is at it again! Breaking hearts and punching our guts -- right in the feels.

You may recall her popular comic "Good Boy" or the "Black Cat," both devastating illustrations in which death welcomes these poor, defenseless animals whose deaths are related to mankind heartlessness or negligence.

The artist is creating these stories to shed light on some real problems -- this time, the victim being birds and culprit? Plastic.

Plastic has been linked to a major decline of seabird populations, 67% decline between 1950 and 2010.

Here's to hoping that this comic opens more eyes to the real problems at hand:

This story is a tear-jerker, make sure you have that tissue box near and ready! The owner of two beautiful 16-year-old Birman cats was forced to accept the fact that she will be moving into a nursing home and would not be able to bring her beloved cats with her.
