Cat Meme Legend, "Longcat" Has Passed Away At Age 18

Most of you have seen the longcat meme but not everyone knows who the longcat is.

Longcat, who's real name is Shiro-chan, but is referenced to as "Nobiko," the Japanese translated of "longcat." Shiro-chan took the internet by storm in 2006. Shiro-chan rose to fame when an image of the white feline reportedly stood at 65cm from head to toe. Eventually, Shiro-chan came to be known as Longcat, according to Know Your Meme

The news of Nobikos passing comes for a Hong Kong Journalist, Kris Cheng, who has written articles for The Washing Post. According to Shiro-chan's owner, they discovered the feline at home being very lethargic and was taken to the vet immediately. Sadly, Shiro-chan was too ill to undergo any X-Rays and just a few hours later, passed away. Shiro-chan's owners are coping with the loss as best they can, and so is the internet who are mourning the meme legendary.

RIP, Shiro-chan. We'll miss you and your extraordinary length.  Say "hi" to Grumpy Cat and Lil Bub, for the world.

Sad News: Rubble, World's Oldest Cat, Dies at 31

His owner Michele Heritage of Exeter, England, confirmed the news, telling South West News Service that Rubble died before reaching his milestone 32nd birthday, which would have been in May.

The cat who lives 31 years, the equivalent of 150 human years, had no specific health issues but became 'very thin' and died of old age.

Michele got Rubble as a kitten for her 20th birthday, in May 1988, and they have been together ever since: "He was part of a litter of cats that my sister's friend had and I had just left home. I was lonely living on my own, so I got him in as a kitten". she told SWNS.

When asked about the fluffy Maine coon' long life, she credited it to her pet parenting, doting on the animal as if he was her own son, as she hasn't had kids of her own. She also recounted Rubble's final days, sharing that the pet deteriorated "very quickly toward the end."

RIP, dear Rubble.

Popular Artist Reveals New Comic About Seabirds And Plastic Consumption

Jenny-Jinya is at it again! Breaking hearts and punching our guts -- right in the feels.

You may recall her popular comic "Good Boy" or the "Black Cat," both devastating illustrations in which death welcomes these poor, defenseless animals whose deaths are related to mankind heartlessness or negligence.

The artist is creating these stories to shed light on some real problems -- this time, the victim being birds and culprit? Plastic.

Plastic has been linked to a major decline of seabird populations, 67% decline between 1950 and 2010.

Here's to hoping that this comic opens more eyes to the real problems at hand:

Vet Reveals What Pets Do In Their Final Moments

Most pet owners plan on being by their pet's side when they go. Surprisingly, there are some who don't want to be there when it happens.
It's understandable that a person who loves their pet wouldn't want to watch them die, but at the same time, how can an owner leave them to die on their own? If you think it doesn't matter or that your pet doesn't know or care if you are there or not, think again. The Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital recently shared a post from a vet, and it's heartbreaking. The vet shared what happens when a pet is euthanized or left to die and how they look for their owners in their final moments. It's a tough read but a necessary one for any pet owner.
