Did you know that Wombats, unlike most marsupials, have backwards-facing pouches? This is because mommy Wombats like to dig, and having a backwards pouch protects the baby from dirt and rocks.
Sometimes it gets a little chilly down under and the Koalas need to wear sweaters. But I always get a little confused about the seasons in Australia, because summer in the northern hemisphere is winter in the southern hemisphere, and vice versa? Do I have that right?

Squeeeeee! Knowing that Koalas are capable of flopping their ears when they're tickled just took them to the next level of squee! I could watch this all day... maybe I will.

I would like to propose a new cuddling maneuver called "Koalaing". It is very similar to "spooning" except instead of being back-to-front, you embrace each other front-to-front in a happy, squeeful, cuddly mess - just like Koalas do!
