This lucky cat spent one hour underwater in a sunken boat on Lake Havasu between California and Arizona and lived through it. She was tucked away in a compartment on the boat and was found by chance after the boat was taken back to shore in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The owner of the boat said she didn't belong to him so the local Humane Society took her in and named her River. 

Since she isn't microchipped the humane shelter is waiting five days for any possible owners to claim her. After that time River will be up for adoption. Hopefully she can find a home much farther inland. 

Update: Banks, the back-scratching cat, has been adopted! I'm sure his forever home will love him and his talents. 

"My neighbor was going to put his boat in the water today and found 4 kittens living in it! By the time he got a box and blankets, there was only 1 left."

This is Stockings and he is now able to walk because of a recent procedure performed by a team of veterinarians in Chicago. The picture above is of Stockings pre-surgery after he was rescued from a possible hoarding situation. Head over to People Pets to see how Stockings is doing after his life-saving procedure!

Frankie the cat was rescued recently after surviving on nothing but McDonald's food for a year. As an abandoned kitty he would follow cars in a drive thru and accept pieces of food people threw out for him. It's not the healthiest cat food out there, but hey, it beats digging through people's trash.

When he was rescued he would not eat normal cat food, instead looking at it like "What is that?". But, you'll be glad to know he's kicked his fast food addiction, got the full veterinary works and is ready to be adopted by a loving family.
