August 17 is Black Cat Appreciation Day! And while we don't need an official day to appreciate the UNDENIABLE SQUEENESS OF OUR MIDNIGHT-COATED KITTEH FRIENDS, we won't scoff at the chance to celebrate their supreme cuteness.

Unfortunately, however, it isn't all about d'awws and splorts. Some reports suggest that, due to superstition, black cats are the last to be adopted from shelters. We would like that to stop.
