You can imagine the disappointment on 15-year-old Rafalca's face when she realized that her dreams of Olympic gold were over.
The Romney horse that has captured our hearts and minds was mathematically eliminated from competition today. This will likely lead to a collective national state of mourning that will force us all to confront our innermost demons.
Today marks the first day of Equestrian events. Yay horsies!
Although Ann Romney's horse, Rafalca, doesn't compete until August 2nd, we can still appreciate just how much care and cash goes into an Olympic-qualified horse.
As far as hobbies go, I think I'll stick to the slightly more affordable stamp collecting. Or restoring antique cars. Because I'm pretty sure restoring cars will STILL be more affordable than owning and training an Olympic-level horse.
