A newborn Malayan tapir calf is alive after two Denver Zoo staff members freed the unresponsive infant from inside its amniotic sac and provided mouth to snout rescue breaths. The scene was captured on the zoo's camera. (Oct. 19)
Tiggeroccon says: "This is Fenris, a Barn Owl at the zoo where I worked one summer. He loved to get right up in my face and stare me down, but the camera seemed to confuse him a little..."

A new, very special, albino baby seal was born at the Dortmund Zoo in Germany on May 26, 2012. They are still deciding on a name for the widdle guy, but he's been making quite the splash with visitors since his public debut last week.
