Squeee! I bet your kisses tickle!
This lovely video documents the first exam ever for Seattle Aquarium's latest otter pup. Its mother Aniak was trained to bring the pup to the biologists, thanks to patience on the biologists' part and a decent amount of seafood-as-positive reinforcement.
Suffice to say, everything about this video is unbearably squee.
The Virginia Aquarium is inviting you to help name its newly adopted male Otter pup. The cute creature was found alone near St. George, S.C., apparently abandoned by his mother and only days old. During the rescue and in subsequent stabilization period, he became dependent upon human care, so he was deemed unable to be released into the wild. He is now under the watchful care of Virginia Aquarists and thriving.
